When a government starts trying to cancel dissent or avoid dissent is frankly when it's rapidly losing its moral authority to govern.

Stephen Harper is increasingly strengthening the powers of the PMO and eroding the democratic rights of the people of Canada.
The following is just a brief list of Stephen Harper’s offenses against our democratic traditions and institutions:
Proroguing parliament to avoid facing a non-confidence vote (2008)
Proroguing parliament to avoid answering questions about the government’s handling of Afghan detainees (2009)
Muzzling ministers, members of Parliament, and government watchdogs; stacking committees with political operatives
Politicizing federal institutions and programs that should represent all Canadians
Avoiding questions by the media; restricting or denying access to information
Using obstructionist tactics; employing American “spin doctors”
Showing disdain for Parliament by refusing to abide by a duly passed motion to turn over documents until forced to back down with the threat of a contempt charge.
Refusing to allow staffers to testify in front of parliamentary committees.
Spending more than $1-billion of taxpayers' money on a three-day meeting.

Can you trust Stephen Harper?
Stephen Harper promised more transparent and accountable government, BUT:
He shut down Parliament twice in one year to avoid scrutiny.
He instructed his MPs to shut down Parliamentary Committees to avoid scrutiny.
He worked to discredit oversight committees that are OUR watchdogs on government.
He refuses to turn over documents demanded by our elected representatives on an issue of concern to Canadians.
Stephen Harper told us he was the most reliable manager of the public purse, BUT:
He squandered a $13-billion surplus left by the previous government—and this was before the recession hit.
He and his finance minister have now left us with a structural deficit, with no credible plan to manage our economy.
His government told us in March, 2010 that security for the G8/G20 summit would cost only $179-million, but only two months later we were told it will cost close to $1-billion. And that's just security. All in, the costs of the G8/G20 summits will be more than $1-billion. And this comes at a time when Stephen Harper is preaching fiscal restraint to
Stephen Harper's government enacted a fixed election-date law, BUT:
He called a snap election for his own self-serving needs.
Stephen Harper decried the "fat cat" MPs’ pension plan and said they would not be part of it, BUT:
Stephen Harper and his MPs have not opted out as they said they would and are set to draw multi-million dollar pensions for six years of service.
Stephen Harper lambasted the Liberals for merely contemplating taxing income trusts, BUT:
In power, he and his finance minister attacked seniors’ incomes by taxing income trusts.
STEPHEN HARPER - DO YOU STILL TRUST HIM?
